Different people have different reasons for joining a marathon. I have found that out when I joined my first race. I was signing up because of my father more than anything else. He is a former athlete and I have always felt that he was a little disappointed in me that I did not follow in his footsteps and had become a jock of some sort. Bakken used to compete in the Olympics and other top long distance running events in the world and that was where he gained knowledge about the different training principles from the top runners in the world. I started using Dr. Bakken’s plan in my training and now I am making fast progress. Now I am sure that I will be able to finish my first marathon.
